Part-time Visiting Lecturer / Part-time Instructor (several posts)

Duties

The appointees will be required to:

(a) contribute to the Master of Science in Innovative Multimedia Entertainment (MScIME), programme for subjects including:

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for Creative Process and Transmedia
• Creative Programming for Designers and Artists
• Digital Art Assets: Bringing Crafts to Markets and NFTs
• Fundamentals of Game and Film Lighting
• Introduction to Real-Time Rendering
• Introduction to Rigging and Technical Animation
• Procedural Content Generation and AI in Games

(b) engage and provide high-quality learning experience to students by designing, coordinating and teaching the subject(s) of the MScIME programme;

(c) design innovative and effective curriculum which reflects developing best practice;

(d) demonstrate solid practical skills in professional level;

(e) closely work with subject coordinator to ensure smooth delivery of education content;

(f) respond to student’s inquiry in a timely manner; 

(g) contribute to knowledge transfer activities locally and/or internationally; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Visiting Lecturer post should:

(a) have a PhD degree in related disciplines or a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification with at least three years of post-qualification teaching/research/practical and/or industrial experience in a related discipline; and

(b) demonstrate capacity to conduct lectures, tutorials, assessments and examination independently and effectively, and have evidence of teaching quality including student evaluations and peer review.

Applicants for the Instructor post should:

(a) have a master’s degree in related disciplines or a recognised degree with at least three years of post-qualification teaching/research/practical and/or industrial experience; and

(b) demonstrate capacity to conduct tutorials, workshops, laboratories, assessments and examination independently and effectively, and have evidence of teaching quality including student evaluations and peer review.

Applicants should also:

(a) demonstrate capability of curriculum development and/or conversion of materials to different delivery methods; and

(b) have high verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Conditions of Service

The remuneration rates are from HK$910 to HK$1,320 per hour for the post of Visiting Lecturer and HK$510 per hour for the post of Instructor.
